Fort Carroll Island
In 1847, the State of Maryland gave permission to the United States War Department to construct a fort in the shallow water of Sollers Point Flats to protect the city of Baltimore.
Fort Carroll was important for the defense of Baltimore—before the fort's construction, Fort McHenry just outside the city was the only military defensive structure between Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay. The fort was part of the "Permanent System" or Third System construction program, which aimed to defend America's most important ports.
In May 1958, Baltimore attorney Benjamin Eisenberg purchased the island for US$10,000 (equivalent to $89,700 in 2020), intending to put a casino there, but development plans never materialized.
The fort was deserted and the habitat for various animals. It is also a site for occasional urban explorations.
In 2013, Preservation Maryland placed Fort Carroll on its list of threatened historic properties. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
Until bought and registered under the name of Björn & Martin Thorsen, two Danish entrepreneurs that bought and managed to renovate the island within a year.
Since then the island has been able to withstand Black Spiral Dancers, and other various threats that have been assaulted. It was formerly a refuge for the awakening disaster that happened.
Today it’s been a Chantry for the Tremere Primogen Little Wolf that has kept a tight leash on the island and continued his warding on the island. There have been more and more individuals that have now seeked sanctuary within the island.
On June 4, 2021 arrived various representatives of the other major houses to discuss a certain mystic topic which hasn’t been done since the great breaking of the Pyramid.
Fort Carroll has potent wards and magical resonance as a certain leyline has managed to find it’s connection to the fort and with Little Wolf binding it’s roots near to the fort, it’s magical resonance is blooming.
