Vako

Played by: Dream Fiend

Eric Colt (a.k.a. Vako)

Born as Eric Colt, Vako grew up in a seemingly normal family setting. He had a caring mother and workaholic father. He always was in practice for theatre and performance arts in school as he grew up. Finding Dance and acting to be favorite hobbies of his. After his schooling Eric actually managed to get a job working in theater as he had always dreamed. He was a dancer but also the backup lead for some productions. He played heroes. He played Villains. All roles were special and magical to him. His memory for the lines and music was near unparalleled. Eric was Happy with this life. Contented.   One night, years after his first start in the theatre one of the male leads sprained his ankle before opening hours. Eric stepped in to perform in his place, telling his friend to not worry about it. There was a new person in the crowd that night. Near the back. He was not sure how he noticed them at first, but they seemed to have an angelic allure to them. Truly the most beautiful person he had ever laid eyes upon. The mystery man would watch from the same part of the theater every night. Whether he was the hero or villain, he watched. Whether he was a side role, backup, or lead, He watched.   After a few months of the same, something changed. The leads, his friends... They kept suffering injury after injury. Things falling on them like bad luck, costume malfunctions in rehearsal. Sprained ankles, shoulders being out of place upon waking. Forgetting lines, which had never happened before... It was strange. Uncanny. Eric replaced them near every night as the starring lead male. Whether it was musical or otherwise, He was there. Eventually the protests of his former friends managed to reach the ears of the heads of the theater. And Eric was let go. Fired from this perfect job he loved. He had not done anything to deserve this. . But he was being blamed for Sabotage or bad luck.   Bags in hand, leaving the place he spent so many years in. . he came face to face with the man. The one who had been watching him for all this time. He offered him the world as his stage, A never ending performance. Where he could shine brightly, never fading away. Eric took his hand and accepted. Whisked away into a life of the Night. He was Embraced November 1st of 1943 into a bloodline of Clan Toreador that possessed the gift of Vicissitude. Volgirre. At first it was wonderful, he could change himself nightly to look differing. Perfecting any flaw of his body. Anything he did not like... As if he was his own to mold... Until one night when his Maker's "Friends" came into play. His time was up of learning and he had to face his Creation Rites. To pass he was required to learn his power, hone it...  and painfully tear his Ex-lover into as many pieces as he could. Keeping them alive as long as possible during the process.   Eric protested to his sire. This was not what he agreed to! He was promised to be a star, a great actor shifting form to form to keep on the eternal show of Life. . . Not be some Butcher! The sire eventually relented out of love for his Childe, Changing his appearance for him with his own mastery of the gift. The Sabbat was looking for a Toreador... Not a Tzimisce. So Eric became Vako, Spines added to his head, teeth altered, and eyes reddened. He bid his childe to flee, They would not find him if he hurried. Once Eric moved to another city, past the lines of his former home. He felt the pain of his sire severing from him. Death... He died to save him from that fate. Eventually he settled in Georgia for a while. Living there.   In Georgia Vako came to know the Women of the Streets rather well. He would listen to their stories and sorrows. Many of them being in that work because they had little choice on income, or had something keeping them from working in the larger factories. Some were runaways from abusive families or relationships. Desperate to get by. These women were his people now, occasionally he would work the street corners too, keeping an eye on them and how they were treated. One night on his way to check on one of his friends he noticed blood trailing to an alley. When he stepped into it to look inside, the woman was there, beaten rather badly. As if she was nothing. Vako could not stand this. For the next few years of his life, Those who preyed upon or abused these women who were already at such low points in their lives. He would trick them, take them... and kill them slowly. Brutally. Torturing the same John for days at a time, using psychological manipulation as well as violence.   After at least two decades in Georgia he moved once more to D.C., attempting to work with the Camarilla despite his independence. He was working for hire as investigation. His allies on the streets were his eyes and ears for things he himself could not find out. He worked for some time on some missions with a Toreador woman named Margo who he affectionately called "Princess". They were investigating the disappearance of Mages and a few elders in the city, before being taken off the mission due to the protests of the local Tremere Chantry. After this firing, Vako stayed quiet. Mostly working out of clubs and occasionally brutalizing Abusive Johns until a scare of Vozhd in the city drove him to move again. Fearing the Sabbat had returned, he moved to Baltimore, where he has been since.
