Using the stolen Gem from the Wizard of the Wine's, the forest folk performed a ritual on an effigy of Count Strahd. Unable to stop the ritual in time, a massive tree-like monster was born using the magic of the Gem. While you were unsure of the Tree's true purpose, it showed no hesitation in attacking you. Thanks to your flaming sword and a hit from a ballista, you were able to defeat the monster and recover the stolen Gem.
