Alta Peak is a massive, standalone rise of stone towering over the plains of Oestmark. The Oestmarken settled the town of Altanridge on the shores of Lake Alta, high within a mountain valley. The range can easily be seen on the horizon for miles, in what is otherwise a mostly flat geography.
