Important events of the year 502

Early in the year 502 AS, a plot to assassinate the King of Throal was foiled by a band of adventurers from the recently opened Kaer Ardanyan, these Heroes were reportedly following a vision given to one of their number by the Passion Garlen. Though the plot was foiled and various traitorous elements within Throal were routed out the true mastermind behind it was unable to be found. The Heroes vision from Garlen suggests that it was Dis working with the Theran Empire, King Varulus clearly agrees as he has been bolstering the Throal army along the new border with the Theran expedition that landed near Ayodhye.

Following the failure of the assassination attempt the Theran expedition reinforced their position and begun building a small trade town, something they claim was their intention all along. Theran airships have become a much more common sight in the area over the past few months.

Other news from the Theran Empire, reports and refugees have begun to arrive from the city of Kratas which was occupied by Theran soldiers this summer. The Theran ambassador to Throal sated that it was a necessary step to combat the rising piracy in the region and he is right Piracy has been on the rise but this reporter finds it interesting that the occupation the so called city of thieves has done nothing to lesson this rise and that these "Pirates" seem to be extremely well equipped, many of them having airships large enough to rival a Theran Empire frigate.

As we roll into autumn the situation between the to major powers remains in an extremely cold stalemate, King Varulus continues to seek alliances with the other city states of the region and the Theran's content to bide their time. With campaigning season behind us we look to next year with trepidation, will there be war or will good sense prevail?
