River Tar

The River Tar is one of the three main rivers of New Crobuzon. It joins with the River Canker to form the Gross Tar, which runs out to the Iron Bay about 10 miles from the city.

Description

As it runs though New Crobuzon, Tar river is bordered by Chimer, Raven's Gate, Smog Bend, Howl Barrow, and Salacus Fields. The Tar merges with the River Canker between Brock Marsh and Strack Island, where it forms the Gross Tar.
There are numerous ports and docks along the length of the Tar, where goods are loaded and offloaded and ships are repaired.
