The Vollum-hii
To watch the Vollum-hii on the battleground is akin to watching an artist in the midst of his or her craft. Many an opponent has withdrawn from battle upon the arrival of the elite soldiers with their gleaming armor and fearsome steeds. Countless battles have been turned by the arrival of the Deymarthan Warlord and the Vollum-hii, either by defeat, surrender, or total withdrawal.
None who have lived to tell the tale of these battles have neglected to spread the tale of the glorious sight. It's no wonder that, along with the seal of the Warlord, they also wear the insignia of the archdevil Bel, who I am sure is nothing but pleased with their skill and dedication.

Composition
Manpower
The Vollum-hii are 500 people strong, not counting their commander or the Warlord herself, who they directly serve.
Weaponry
Each member of the Vollum-hii carries a bastard sword and a lance. Each is also allowed a back-up melee weapon of their choice, with most choosing either a heavy mace or a flail.
Vehicles
Each soldier in this unit rides a heavy warhorse, all of which are from the best bloodlines with a long history of being used by the Vollum-hii.
Logistics
Recruitment
Vollum-hii soldiers are personally chosen by the Warlord, who takes recommendations from the various generals who serve in the army. After having chosen possible recruits for the unit, each is put through rigorous testing. They must all be in top physical condition and be able to wield any weapon with great efficiency as well as being expert horsemen. In addition, they must show excellent mental and emotional fortitude, and prove themselves well-versed in the history of Deymartha and especially the current Warlord. Above all, they must show unwavering loyalty to their leader and a willingness to die in service of her.
History
The Vollum-hii have been a part of the Deymarthan military since the country's origins. The tradition started with the first of the Warlords, whose brother was the first general that led this special unit. It began smaller, however, being made up of only 100 soldiers, but as the population of the country grew, along with the militant mindset of Deymartha, subsequent Warlords felt it only proper that the Vollum-hii add to its ranks.
Historical loyalties
This unit has always been loyal to the Warlord above all others, although since the Hellgate, they also share a loyalty to the archdevil Bel.
