Chains of the Acid Dragon

5th Level Conjuration   Casting Time: 1 action   Range: 60 feet   Components: V, S, M (The scale of a black, copper or shale dragon worth 50g)   Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute   Chains of acid erupt from your hand or spellcasting implement, slithering across the ground like serpents, then wrap themselves around one creature within range. The target makes a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 12d4 acid damage and is Restrained, or half as much damage and is not Restrained on a successful save.   While the creature is Restrained, at the start of each of their turns they take 4d4 acid damage. A creature restrained this way can make a Strength check as an action on its turns, ending the effect on a success. If the creature teleports as a means of escaping its restraints, the chains travel with them.   At Higher Levels: When cast at higher levels, each instance of damage is increased by 2d4 for each level above 5th.   Spell Lists. Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard
