Yunesa Zinwain

Yunesa Zinwain was born the fifth child of a minor noble family. The fact that she wasn't the eldest child, or even the eldest daughter, was the greatest gift fate could have given her. She hated the formalities of court, and the frivolities of high society even more. Given her constant push back, and relative unimportance in noble matters, her father relented when she was twelve years old. He ceased demanding she attend lessons for dance and etiquette. He abandoned the idea of her taking part of the entertainment of noble guests. He simply gave up, and let her do as she wanted. What she wanted was to explore nature, especially the great forest that bordered her family's land to the north.   She would spend hours wandering the forest. As she grew older she would disappear for days at a time. It is likely her only reason for returning at all was to regale her mother with tales of all the things she saw on her travels. Often when she returned, at least one animal would be following close behind her. At times her animal companions would be quite large, which caused quite the uproar in the town and castle on those occasions. When asked how she was controlling the animals she would only laugh and say she controlled nothing, they were just her friends come to meet her mother.   She did eventually acquire a second interest. During one of her brief stays at home during her mid teens, she happened by the castle courtyard while a knight errant was sparring with some of the local guards. He fought in lighter armor than she had seen knights use previously. He also favored a spear over the more popular sword. She saw grace and tenacity in his form, a stark contrast to the brutish fighting styles she'd grown up witnessing. The stories say she strode up to the man mid combat, wolf at her heel, and commanded him to train her. He had no idea who she was, but once he had collected himself from the surprise interruption, and taken in the scene before him, he decided it would be wise to obey her command. For years after, her time was split between long excursions into the wild and strenuous training with the knight.   When Alverion arrived, and her brother Aeolith swore himself to the Divine One's service, she saw an opportunity for adventure. She loved the forest and fields of her home, but she longed to see what other wonders nature had to see. Thousands of The Righteous owe their lives to her desire to see more of the world. Her years of living in nature had trained her to be the perfect scout. She could move undetected in any terrain, follow any trail, and obscure her own path flawlessly. She was also deadly when she found lone or small groups of enemies. She, and the others she trained, defeated countless ambush attempts by the Shix. Creatures made of darkness and deception could not slip past her watchful eye, and many met their end at the tip of her spear.   When asked what she desired as reward for her service, she answered that she wished to enjoy and protect the great forest she loved. Alverion granted her request without hesitation. He said to her, "You will be given domain over the forest, and a kingdom of people to aid you in its protection. You and your subjects shall be remade as children of nature." Yunesa Zinwain became the Prime Fenvar and went from fighting to avoid the duties of court, to being the first queen of Athalon.
