Bastollan Warforged

It is unknown when or how exactly the Warforged came into being, but what is certain is that they first came about in the days of the Old War that led to the creation of the New Voltaic Republic. Originally of Gnomish design, the years of harsh, cruel battle are what made the first constructs forged by war sentient. After centuries of ceaseless violence, it was this brave cohort that first stepped forward to end the conflict, led by the one who would go down in history as Titan.
The Warforged are a very proud and noble race. Sentient and intelligent, they loathe being treated as objects, and so it is rare to find one that is addressed as “it” and not “he/she” (with those identifying with the female pronouns less common than those who identify with male ones). Warforged names are generally simple and impactful, but also somewhat “family friendly” in nature. This does not necessarily extend to the oldest of Warforged, however. In the heat of bloody battle, old naming conventions were made to strike fear into the hearts of the enemy, and so the oldest of Warforged can often be distinguished by intimidating names, which they have chosen to keep in this time of peace as both a badge of honor and a reminder of what failure to work together meant to Voltaia in the past - a symbol of their vow never to let that history repeat itself. Warforged have established a reputation for being noble and honorable, and so are often looked up to as examples of good citizens.
Warforged are not uncommon by any means in the NVR, but among all of the races that call it home, they are the fewest in numbers. It's even rarer to see them in other countries in anything remotely resembling a distinct community.
And yet, the Bastollan Warforged defy many such expectations, coming to the plains after the Old War in the wake of a disagreement with their kin. Displaced by choice, they came here to find continued work in what thought themselves to be the best at. They came here to kill.

Gender Ideals

In a divergence of tradition from their eastern kin, one can find many Bastollan warforged preferring it/its pronouns, viewing some notions of gender etiquette as perhaps unnecessary to what they find purpose in.
