Terrinite Crystals

Terrinite Crystals are a mineral important to the function of nanomachines and, by extension, casting devices. Through decryption of the Monoliths, the humans of Terrina were able to discover nanotechnology, which could be used for various medical purposes as well as other practical uses. However, the technology outlined called for a material that could  generate enough power for the nanomachines to self-replicate and transmute into different properties, which was thought to not exist on Terrina. When scientists came across Terrinite, they discovered that the properties of the crystal allowed for the replication of data, memory, and transmutability necessary for the creation of nanotechnology.

Discovery

Terrinite was discovered in the mountains of Santander in 475 TC, back when the Question of Nanotech was being researched by scientists across the planet. Appearing to be a translucent green crystal, scientists were incredibly perplexed to discover that the crystals were able to store and reflect energy within itself over very extended periods of time, and said energy can be recharged indefinitely. Over the next decade, scientists were able to successfully use the crystals in nanocomponents that were capable of self-replication, transfer of data, and transmutation.

Application

What was found to be most successful was the creation of a "queen" nanobot that replicated miniature versions of itself that were receptive to data and commands, which was powered by the Terrinite crystals. When given instructions from a central command (ie the CPU of a Casting Device or a RASPUTIN device), the nanomachines can be released and solved the necessary problem. For example, nanomachines can be injected into a patient with cancer, and once they reach the cancer cells, they can transmute themselves into the medicine to treat the cancer without harming the non-cancerous cells.
