Day of Selection

No matter what you choose to believe, Lucifer exits. He is believed to be the great Devil, Satan, the Deceiver, etc... An angel who chose to fall in order to not serve mankind. He believed angels were the better beings. Once he fell, he used his skills to try to encourage humans to stray from his father's laws. He wanted to prove to his family above that humans are not honorable and wondrous creatures they believe them to be. Just more advanced animals, nothing more. Yet he still chose to procreate with these "lesser beings". Thus he created the Fallen. His children and grandchildren and so on, have abilities. They understand from an early age they are a little different than other humans. Many do not fully realize what this means until they come into their full power. The things they can see and instinctively know can drive some insane. Or at least make them believe they are. Without proper guidance many fall into the belief they are crazy and need to be institutionalized. Others allow this to lead them to lives of crime, drugs and depravity to cope.
We try to find them all at an early age, to monitor and guide them. By the time they hit puberty, they can see demon's true faces. This is extremely terrifying for a teenager to see a possessed human and realize they are not normal. By the time they reach 17, many realize they can "command" lesser demonic creatures that tend to hang around them. We think they maybe drawn to the Fallen. Imps, spirits, even sometimes the occasional Hell Hound. Those we find early enough, are taught about their heritage, the possible powers they will eventually wield. The age of 18 they must choose. Join the fold of the Fallen who fight Lucifer, his demons and their evil ways; or choose to turn their back on what is good and right. They do not have to choose to believe in a particular God or Deity. They just have to pledge to work against their Fallen Angelic ancestor and all the evil denizens he controls. Their 18th birthday becomes their Day of Selection. This is a private ceremony held just for select members of the Organization, the birthday boy/girl and their parents, if they are around. We of course allow them to celebrate their birthday in whatever manner they choose, with friends, family, whatever. The Selection Ceremony takes place after their birthday party. Private and solemn. They are read they story of Lucifer's fall. Read a brief history of his deeds, how he operates. How his demons and followers operate. A chalice is placed before the individual and filled with Holy Water. The officiant then commands them to make a choice. Drink the Holy Water and accept this new responsibility or turn their back on the chalice and the Fallen all together.
Those who join the Fallen in the fight against Satan, receive a large celebration before their advanced training begins.
Those who turn their backs, are never seen or heard from again. This is done quietly of course. Can't have people scared into making a choice they really do not believe in.
