Festivals of Oldham

Oldham has multiple festivals year-round, with at least 2 festivals a month. Most festivals are hosted and ran by the "Deputy of Festivals", who surveys the general population and plans upcoming festivals based on the reactions and opinions of previous festivals, however, because of its reputation as a festival hub, a lot of travelling festivals put Oldham on their list even though it is a northern island.

History

Festivals have been a part of Oldham since the first sailors called it their home. At first most festivals were means to ease the pain and strain the people of Oldham would face, especially in winter times, however, there were some festivals that were more happy, as a way to look forward towards the future.
