Aasimar (Ah-se-mar)

Aasimar are a rare and special people. They are born for a divine purpose and blessed with Celestial gifts. Sometimes, if a devout couple does well to serve their god for many years and suffers from infertility, the gods will show mercy on them and bless the couple with an Aasimar child. As a result of the divine conception, there is no known community of Aasimar people. They integrate into the societies they are born into.

Aasimar children resemble their parents, but as they mature more Celestial features will begin to arise. Oftentimes, one won't know they have an Aasimar child until the teenage years. Some signs of an Aasimar are metallic looking or white freckles, an unusal hue to their shadow, prismatic skin, a ghostly halo crowning the head, the unusual use of Darkvision, among other things. When it is discovered that a person has Celesital heritage, they are feared and respected. There is a certain awe that others have in the presence of fully-fledged Aasimar. Some people will choose to worship the Aasimar, though they are no more gods than the Elves are.
