Changelings

Changelings exist with the world though most would try to keep their abilities hidden so as to not draw fear and suspicion their way. Another reason to hide their nature is that almost all changelings owe their existence to the cult of Baaphora. Doppelgangers, one-half of the progenitor species are known to be lazy and hedonistic and if there is one place to indulge in hedonism it is with the followers of Baaphora where their ability to transform goes over well. While normally they breed as male with a female of another species the Concubus of Baaphora are exceptionally skilled at encouraging others to try something new. If a doppelganger that is at the time female is impregnated by a concubus the result will be a changeling every time. Strangely they have no trace of faend in them unless under special circumstances of a pact or other special selection process.
Changelings integrate into other species socities rarely ever revealing themselves if they can help it even to other changelings, though they can't sense another changeling any more easily than anoyone else can. As a result no one is sure how many changelings are alive but they are not organized and seem to prefer just being left alone. This doesn't stop the rumors and whispers that changelings are taking over governments or the like.
