Khel Khulthur

Khel Khulthur is the site of devastation so complete that it remains a barren land thousands of years after it happened. A vendetta held by the dwarves for the entire time, even if some would argue that they were the instigators and that they were not the ones to truly suffer the devastation.   Khel Khulthur was the capital of the dwarves before they finished building Hammerock, which was the spark as they invaded the lair of a dragon, killed his followers, and stole his hoard. This first instance of the mortal races attacking a dragon was brought to the Tyrannus. An example had to be made as there was more and more dissent growing within the Draz Tyran of old as to how dare the mortals to attack them, and following their laws a penance had to be exacted, the lesson had to be taught.   Sadly it was not the dwarves responsible that learned this lesson, as dragons do not move quickly in such matters the dwarves had finished Hammerock, at least enough to move into, and began moving into their new underground home. They left the surface settlements with the halflings and some dwarven guards garrisoned in each city. When the wings of dragons darkened the sky over Khel Khulthur it was not the dwarves that paid the price for their transgression, instead, it fell upon the halflings. The dragons blinded by fury didn't stop to notice the differences between a dwarf and a halfling. Nor did they know that the city had come under the ownership of halflings. This would become known as The Scouring   In more recent years there have been groups making expeditions into the barren lands to find anything that remains and to study and help repair the land. There has been some success on both parts prompting treasure hunters and scholars to come and create a small outpost town bearing the same name as the ruined city. Some hope that it will become the basis for the city to make a return, to finally heal the old scar.
