Slinger
The term 'Slinger' is used often in the derogatory sense by those common laborers who have to try and compete with the ability of one of the Slingers for their job. A single Slinger with the right cantrip can easily outpace any other worker or turn certain tasks into triviality. A slinger is usually a failed mage one who learned the basic cantrips but couldn't muster up anything beyond that point and washed out. Their cantrips and basic understanding of magic does help put their skills above those of the non-magical laborers for those with a desire for speed.
Working as a slinger pays well but can be taxing more on the mind than the body as casting the same spells, again and again, all day can become old quickly, but the tax of casting even those basic spells all day every day begins to wear on even the most robust slinger and they often require breaks after each job so that extra pay has to cover their recovery period as well.
