With the Western kingdom expanding as fast as it was, the kingdom was quite wealthy due to the influx of materials to trade and surplus caused by a large population. This large population gave them an advantage where they had had none. This advantage was all in the numbers, it made people treat them differently. Thus when they went to conduct diplomacy, they would go with a smallish standing army to support the delegation. Over the next 100 years or so they slowly brought the elves into the fold, via marriages and alliances. The elves were now part of the Western Human kingdom. The dwarves being harder to marry into were offered autonomy within the kingdom to include protection for open research contracts and cheaper prices. The giants already assimilated, were happy with the land they had access to and were free to maneuver around the kingdom as they were basically a roving army that had the interest of the kingdom at heart.
