With the defeat of the gnolls, and the kingdom safe again. Ionas De Ro turned his sights inward. During his campaign against the gnolls he had move through various villages and had seen the plight of the rural farmers. They had no protection against the wild and were constantly at odds with wild animals and monster attacks. Ionas De Ro, being the ambitious man he was, used his victory as a launching pad for a political campaign into the house of nobles. He entered the house of nobles and then the house of lords once inside the political wheelhouse. There he put forth a four part plan: Creation and maintenance of an army and navy, creation of fort towns and cities that would act as trade depots an garrisons, the founding of Azel's Sentinels, and lastly creation of an auxiliary force, The adventurers guild. A mercenary guild that would handle smaller more complex issues that could not be responded to via a large military force. The Guild would act as a specialist pool that allowed for those with enhanced skills to gain military rank while advancing a personal goal. While being related to him, the formation of the knightly order of Ro, was not his doing but he lended support to the establishment of the organization by officially appointing a Master at Arms to oversee the organization. In addition those with a religious zeal took De Ro's teachings in stride and committed themselves to the church of Rielat, the god of leaders. These knights of the church came to call themselves paladin or crusaders. They were the arm of the church and by that extension a power that the state could wield in addition to the other specialist forces they had at their disposal.
