Military action
The gnolls campaign ended in disaster for the creatures of destruction. Thus they were routed from their forward operating bases in the grasslands against the empire and pushed out to the foothills of the central mountain range. There they made contact with various powers seeking any that would empower them to seize upon the fruit of the empire and wreck chaos across the land.
The gnolls returned with a ferocious attack on the walls of the empire. Yet even with their new powers they were unable to break the walls that protected the eastern flank of the empire. It would take another year before the gnolls were able to break through the walls of the empire and run amok within the rural settlements thanks to Azel's Sentinels. The sentinels were responsible for holding the eastern wall as long as it did with their gorilla warfare tactics taught to them by De Ro. They would spend most of their time behind the enemy lines, destroying supplies and equipments, killing leaders and causing disarray within the faction. The innovations set forth by De Ro at the end of the last war with the gnolls held true and staved off the attacks from the gnolls while a formal response was mounted to combat the new attacks. Once again De Ro found himself in charge of a military unit that he had drilled, to combat the oncoming attacks of the gnolls. Yet this time he found himself with warriors that were capable of much more. His paladins that he had created joined his ranks of men, seeing the creatures as aberration of nature, that must be cleansed for the gods to rejoin the mortal world. His knights honored his call as came wearing the full plate and warded horses that had shone so bright in the wars of the days past. Yet the most surprising amongst the new additions was that of a squad of mages. These mages were his new weapon against the gnoll forces.
