Lirfort (leer-FORT)

One of two settlements along the northern border of Coznia, Lirfort holds the line against incursions of monsters and bandits living in the Blasted Wastes. The inhabitants of Lirfort tend to be grim, militant, no-nonsense people. Almost everyone in the settlement serves some purpose in terms of protecting the kingdom from the ravages of the hostile lifeforms that crawl out of the Blasted Wastes, either as a direct combatant or as the vital support staff which keeps those fighters fit for battle. This intense involvement with the military lends the people of Lirfort a hard-edged competence which serves them well if they leave the city for other parts of Coznia, but it does not tend to create individuals who have much sympathy for those who cannot defend themselves.
