Tensertruck (TEN-ser-trukk)

A Tensertruck is a vehicle based on the spell Tenser's Floating Disk. Several of the archmage Tenser's apprentices discovered that, given the proper alterations to the spell, they could surf down the steep slopes of the mountains which house The Collegium. After being thoroughly reprimanded for reckless behavior, the students rearranged the spell to be capable of moderate self-propulsion. With a great deal of trial and error (mostly error), they also installed safety mechanisms. An enterprising artificer student named Ford Truck came across the young wizards experimenting and promptly determined that she could apply the altered spell quite easily to a wheel-shaped helm which, powered by a burst of magical energy, could reproduce the Floating Disk in the configuration the apprentices had designed. The archmage claimed proprietary rights to the spell, insisting on a 50/50 split of any profits made from this new product. Thus was born the Tensertruck.
These days, Tensertrucks are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors.
