Macanóc

Macanóc is the god of the sun, youth and fertility. People pray to him for a good harvest and for healing or to shelter them from disease.

We shall sacrifice to Macanóc even when our fields are green and no ailment plagues us. For the bright, unforgiving heat that burns our crops and the spread of disease lie as much in his hand as the first spring sun and the relief of a healing salve.
