Aviary
Hideout of the Smiling Hawks
Fortification
When Saewen of Anghor led her failed rebellion against Ivor, she reclaimed the ancient fortress outpost of Mirkwood Elves. Long abandoned, the position of the fortification is excellent, but the walls are crumbling and it could not withstand a proper siege. The Smiling Hawks
Saewen has done a good job of organizing more fighters to her cause. She initially started her rebellion with less than two dozen men, but now the Hawks number over fifty. They are moderately experienced fighters, although not actual soldiers.Cracks
A rebellion is only as strong as its leader. Sawen is doing her best to keep morale up, but the men are not happy in the drafty halls of the crumbling tower, and long for the comfort, and the families, they left behind before the rebellion.Alterations
The Smiling Hawks attempted to refortify the tower, but the rot goes deep, and instead, were left just trying to keep it from collapsing.
Architecture
Second Age Ænthror artistry was used to erect the Aviary, and it is has much in common with buildings south of the Grey Mountains.
History
Prior to the Smiling Hawks taking up residency there, the Aviary's use vacillated between bandit hideout and homeless shelter. In more ancient times, it served as the furthest point north of the Ænthror people, ancient ancestors of the Anghorians, before they were driven north over the mountains and away from Rohan.
