Under New Management
The auspicious group of traveling adventurers, known to the people of
Summershaw and
Greater Anghor as
The Traveling Minstrels, purchased the rights to a burned down plot of land in
Angor Thom over a year ago. Bravit Bitterchin, the hardy but aging proprietor of Summershaw's
Bitterchin's Brewery agreed to expand the footprint of his franchise, but the two parties came to an agreement that the new tavern would be wholly controlled and run by The Minstrels. Bitterchin agreed to send his trusted barkeep
Meager Mike, and his incorrigible girlfriend and serving wench
Sweet Salinger Sue, to head north and set the bar up for business while the Minstrels tended to more important matters.
Lemuralia, The Spider, & The Beans
The new bar was christened '
Smaug's Lair' after the single missing scale of the great wyrm the party had acquired in their journeys. With Meager Mike's help, the tavern was spit shined clean and ready for business just as the Anghor holiday of
Lemuarlia & the Feast of Lanterns was upon them. In preparation for the big day, the group found a few large barrels of beans (an important part of the holiday's ritual), and with some coaching from Sue, traveled to
Attercrop Cave to hunt giant spider, a northern delicacy that, if prepared correctly, would legitimize these foreigners as authentic members of Anghor Society. Combined with a large quantity of Bitterchin's Brew - a famous Summershaw stout - opening night was a raging success.
Some Ghosts With Your Ale
As any proper citizen of Anghor is wont to do, the group used the beans to bless the new pub, and in doing so, summoned the ghosts of their individual past. Thoroughly shaken, but determined to help their ancestors rest easy, each member of the Minstrels swore an oath to complete their ghost's quests. In their stead, Mike, Sue, and a constant stream of satisfied customers are determined to make
Smaug's Lair the predominant watering hole throughout the Wilding.
