Hastur, the King in Yellow

The King in Yellow

Hastur, the King in Yellow, is a Great Old One with domain over wealth and the sky, and is a self-proclaimed god of shepards. He resides within the floating kingdom of Yhtill, of which he is its sole ruler. He is the brother of the late Cthulhu, and became increasingly malevolent and selfish after his death. According to legend, 90% of all gold and gemstones mined by humankind is stored within his coffers. Strangely enough, Hastur is known to usually obey the laws of the land he roams over, but is no stranger to pushing their limits.

Appearance

Hastur's true form is allegedly amorphous, but he is always seen wearing a large golden cloak that covers his entire body save for his face, which is shrouded in darkness. He is often seen with several inky tentacles coming from out of the bottom of his cloak, which he uses to locomote. These tentacles seem to have no limit of size or quantity, and such can be stretched out to vastly increase his apparent size. The sleeves of his cloak are only used when interacting with humans, when he fills up his sleeves with several smaller tentacles to feign arms and hands.   According to Hastur himself, if one were to remove the hood of his cloak from his head, the universe would end. The validity of this statement is untested and should probably stay that way.

Abilities

Hastur's uncountable number of tentacles are renowned for their intense strength, and he has been picking up entire mountains and throwing them across the landscape. He is remarkably charismatic and, despite his appearance and reputation, people he wants to talk to show no fear or disgust in his presense. Hastur is also able to communicate with people telepathically over long distances, although this ability is only used if meeting face-to-face isn't an option. He also possesses the ability to hover and fly, albeit slowly. His flying speed can be drastically increased by throwing himself off of objects with his tentacles.

Attack on Heaven

Lord Hastur's greed eventually led him to desire the entirety of the sky, and so he turned his eyes towards the Kingdom of Heaven floating above the Known World. He and his army fought for centuries trying to get Heaven to fall, but were ultimately unsuccessful
