The Force of the World Without Laws

Throughout the Boundless Expanse, a mysterious force flows. Some call it magic, some call it marginalia, some call it strangeness. Enigmatic, it is hard to describe or visualize in any meaningful way. It changes things, makes the impossible possible, and behaves unpredictably. It is almost entirely absent within the Known Wall, the Ice Wall protecting it, and as you get farther from the center, it gets stronger.
It is the absense of a god, a Planar Demiurge. Nowadays that role is filled by God. Before him, it was the many deities of the many pantheons throughout the Known World. It is whatever God chooses to ignore, or is forced to ignore. It is the lack of divine law to keep the world together.
