Shimmer Lake

The town of Last Light is built on the shore of Shimmer Lake, the second-largest known body of water beyond the old west road.  At least some of the water is provided by the river Sheen that runs near Last Light.  There is also a small creek that runs into it, which can be found near Faldor's Holdfast. Some people refer to it as Shimmer Creek. 
The name is twofold: on clear nights when there is no wind, the lake perfectly reflects the light of the moon and stars. However, even when the clouds are heavy, and the surface is choppy from the autumn breeze, a strange shimmer can be detected just below the surface of the lake. Sailors and fishermen are a superstitious lot. They believe it is bad luck to sail straight across Lake Shimmer.
