D.E.E.D-181 Gundam Orkanen

Development History

Developed by a little-known 3rd party company named Terakura Co., The Orkanen was intended as a mass-produced version of the Gundam Seere, after its blueprints were leaked by [DATA REDACTED]. Terakura’s engineers quickly set out to work on various improvements to the base design, including a bulkier, more rugged frame to withstand less delicate handling, as well as a wear system designed to test the prototype frame’s durability. The MS was also equipped with various state-of-the-art verniers and generators, greatly improving the MS’s top speed to surpass even that of the base Seere. However, this came at the cost of a 0.7ms lag time to the vernier’s startup, potentially leaving the ms vulnerable. Activating all of its verniers simultaneously allowed the pilot access to its OVR-HT mode, nullifying the lag time and even further increasing the MS’s speed, however at the cost of potentially burning out the verniers when activated for too long.   This high performance however resulted in another problem: without a skilled pilot at the helm the mobile suit couldn’t be brought to its fullest potential; worst-case scenarios had the Orkanen be impossible to control. To counteract this, a highly advanced combat A.I. was developed by [DATA REDACTED] and [DATA REDACTED], via the means of [DATA EXPUNGED]. The combat A.I. was capable of the split-second reactions required to use the Gundam’s high-yield verniers properly, as well as correct the MS’s targeting systems when under such high speeds. This allowed even the most amateur pilots to be able to use the suit to its fullest potential.
