Jack in GBN and Jack in real life are two very different people. Jack-Knife, the player, is a bouncy and outgoing over-the-top diva. She pretends to be air-headed but is much more intelligent in reality. Jack Peeters, the person, is quiet and reserved. She speaks almost entirely in sign language and whispers, mostly because she can’t talk louder than that.

Personal history

Jacqueline Peeters was born in Japan to an American soldier and a Japanese woman. Her family lived on a United States Air Force base for her entire childhood. As she got older, her father became abusive to her and her mother. This eventually culminated in her running away from home right around when she turned 13. She shortened her name to Jack at this time too. She had been a long time fan of the Gundam animes, watching them on TV as a little girl and building the models as an elementary schooler. By the time she was 12, GBD had taken off and Gunpla Battle was all the rage. She took advantage of this and her love of Gunpla and began to make bets with other players to make money for herself. This eventually led her into the seedier side of the GBD community, playing in tournaments for money with some pretty rough individuals.
Shortly after she had turned fourteen, she naively beat a group of three men in a tournament for a sizable sum of money. The men, after drinking for several hours and watching her defeat other opponents while seething over their losses, decided that there was no good reason to let her keep their money and waited for her outside the building. When she came out they grabbed her and dragged her into the alleyway, and tried to wrestle her purse away from her. She struggled and eventually was able to scream for help. One of the men panicked when she did this, and in a drunken rage, he slashed her throat with a pocket knife. The men panicked even more after this and ran, taking the money and leaving her for dead. Fortunately or unfortunately, the man’s pocket knife was rather dull and not very large, and he failed miserably to kill Jack. However, the wound severed most of her vocal cords, rendering her speechless. She recovered slowly but her entire demeanor was changed after the incident, leaving her much more reserved and much less trustful.
Her love of Gunpla allowed her to bounce back, however, and she returned to Gunpla Battle soon after her recovery. However, she now trained for hours each day at a mixed martial arts school and wore clothing that hid her features almost entirely. She also worked to learn sign language to better be able to communicate, even though she is forced to use written notes quite often as not everybody understands ASL. She continued to live like this for years, making money off of GBD, until she was 22. By the time she was an adult, Jack was living comfortably and had almost completely forgotten about her parents. Then she got a phone call. Her parents had been in a car accident. The hospital had located her as their next of kin-based on the files from her injury. By the time she got to the hospital, her father was already dead. Her mother was paralyzed from the waist down. According to her mother, Jack running away broke her father out of his abusive spiral and he had spent the past six years supporting her through the grief of losing her daughter. Jack spent the next two years taking care of her mother until she passed away, giving up Gunpla Battle out of necessity.
After her mother died, Jack looked to get back into Gunpla and found out that GBD had been replaced by the VR game GBN. So she set up and account and got to work. She’s been playing for around eight months now and live streams her gameplay to make money. She has a moderate fan following who knows her as her online handle, Jack-Knife.
