Samuel Morante (a.k.a. Oz)

Sam is the CEO of Mor Materia and a former battler who has now donned the disguise of Oz, a masked fighter who joined the Force of his longtime rival Alex King.
Living as an individual who came from wealth, he spent his entire life simply doing as he pleased. The things that troubled most people like paying rent and being able to afford groceries were utterly foreign to him. As a result, there were not many moments when a smart-ass smile or a charming grin were far from his face. He was quick with a laugh or a joke, and despite his pampered upbringing, he managed to be empathetic to OTHER people's sorrows. Sam is completely unable to stop pushing the buttons of those he dislikes and has gotten himself into far too many scraps to count.

To describe him in one word, Sam is passionate, and to a fault. Fighting, Gunpla Battle, Dancing, they are all tightly wrapped up into a box, that when opened ignites the fire of his soul. Faced with a real adversary, or when the time came for him to usurp his father and claim Mor Materia Company as his own, Samuel proved himself cutthroat, and very precise.

Personal history

Sam traveled to Japan on behalf of his father, CEO of Mor Materia Company, one of the world's leaders in materials fabrication and distribution. Sam was a talent scout, and field tester of their products, as well as a chairman for the company. There in glorious and exciting Nippon, Sam Gunpla battled and drank and partied. He met friends like Cian and Alicia, and enemies like Alex King, though in truth he always treasured his battles against him. Sam, Cian, and Alicia formed Team Last Dancer. It wasn't very long before he became moved by the woman he battled beside. He wanted so badly to help her realize her dream that he even joined Neo Nemesis. At the very least, it would give him an opportunity to be in the spotlight, and to battle with the best.
Sam learned that his father had been funding Neo nemesis in order to assure their place at the top of the Gundam hierarchy. once Gunpla battle as the world knew it was rewritten. Samuel thought. "It's one thing if I screw around and have a little fun with some shady individuals, but why would you ever drag your company through that shit... Our company."
At the end of a big tournament, The Battle du Solei, a Neo Nemesis Movement led by Sam and Alicia was launched. The Limiter, a device that plunged Gunpla battle back into the dark ages, was placed. The Limiter turned off all special systems made possible through Plavsky particle manipulation. It became a ruthless and realistic battle won by skill alone. The best fighters in Japan united to take down Neo nemesis, and undo the damage they had caused. Alicia fled, and Sam was left confined to a hospital bed. He suffered severe nerve damage. He wouldn't dance anymore, but he had other things to occupy his mind.
He went back to America to unearth all the dark dealing his father partook in, and exiled him from his own company. He took the mantle and became the CEO of Mor Materia.
Since then, he was seen less and less. The nerve damage in his leg made it hard for him to go out and battle, and his responsibility to the company made it even harder.
The work paid off, and a dream that he could never have imagined was given birth. Mor Materia partnered with their life long competitors, Yajima Trading.
Years later. Gundam Battle Nexus was developed, and with the exception of the news and press conferences, Sam became a ghost.

Alicia Sparrow

Alicia was Sam's one true muse from the moment he arrived in Japan until the day he shipped himself back broken. She was beautiful, passionate, and a hell of a fighter and leader. In his eyes, she was over the top and grandiose, and that was all he wanted! She was the best partner he ever had. After the limiter, he searched for her, for years. He even went as far as to track down and obtain the very Embody suit she wore during that final battle. It brought him some small comfort, but after that, it became harder and harder to pick up her trail. He missed his friend, and often mourned that Neo Nemesis had not won, if only because that might have meant more time with Sparrow.

Cian O'Siorain

One of the first and only friends he made on his life-changing trip to Japan. They became fast friends and drinking buddies. Cian mirrored his passion for Battling and even helped him become a better builder. Cian vanished, unwilling to take part in the Limiter plot. The two companions didn't reconnect until a few years later when Sam flew him to New York City for a night on the town.

Alex King

Sam arrived and met Alex King by chance. In the months after that, they battled all across Japan. He was certain Alex had some contempt for him and his way of life, even more so when the Italian Edgelord became a Gunpla Terrorist. Sam had the time of his life fighting him though. Every win and loss was the most fun he could have, and he was certain some of that brilliant skill in combat must have rubbed off on him. Even in their duel, during the Limiter Incident, it took piloting the most advanced, state of the art, and unfair mobile suit possible to even stand his equal. It didn't help him claim victory. He was thrilled up until his assimilation into the battle caused a near-fatal accident. Assimilation, combined with the use of the EMBODY system caused a very severe backlash when Alex delivered a world-shattering blow to the Duality. Sam suffered serious nerve damage, that he would never truly recover from. Even then, he never felt any ill will against Alex King. Sam knew that all along, he himself had been playing the role of villain.
