The Green was established in the 15th century and is by far the oldest and most sprawling green area with Glasgow, covering well over 100 acres of land. Known for its monumental landmarks, Nelson's monument, St. Andrews suspension bridge and numerous fountains, it is also home to the oldest practical lifeboat and lifesaving organisation in the world. Home to museum, the Peoples Palace, the Green is a place where small wildlife, culture and people roam free enjoying a respite from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
