Era of the Lamps

1 and beyond

"Eras" last one hundred years, and there are three eras (or 900 years) in an "Age." The story currently takes place in the Seventh Age of recorded Blest history, during the Era of the Lamps, the third era of that age. A council of Augurs and Seers are consulted in the last year of an era to look forward for omens and portents of the next era to determine its name. Recently, however, this duty has been relegated to the sole domain of the Autarch.
