Viola, the Lady of Light and Queen of Winter
Viola is the queen of the gods through her marriage to Lumar and the patron of noble ladies, families, and children, a role emphasised by the church rather than originial scripture. According to the Salmenica, she is the queen of winter and the bringer of ice and snow.
Origins
Most denominations teach that Viola was a beautiful human woman, virtuous and pious in every way. Lumar himself took a liking to her, showering her with riches and splendour. Before his fall from grace, Karigor, in an effort to spite Lumar, tempted her with sin time and time again. Each time, she refused to stray from Lumar's light. In a fit of fury, Karigor lured her deep within a winter forest using the voice of a lost child, and froze her to ice. Lumar, taking pity on his favoured follower, restored her to life in the form of godhood. Some denominations, such as those found in the frozen badlands of northern Tembra, view her as a malignant deity, intent on turning the world to frozen wastes. Such groups also believe her to be either a daughter of Karigor or the Black Queen herself.Divine Domains
