Character Generation

Character Generation   Odemark: Reborn takes place on a heavy gravity world close to it's stellar body. It is hot, dry and mostly seas of fine sand. It is based around a Science Fiction Post-Apocalypse setting where biological and nuclear devices were used. This means D&D5e will have additions made to the core rules to smooth out the challenges for dealing with the more technological aspects of the setting. One of which are the three available ethnotypes which are added as secondary backgrounds. Others may come from out of print sources, ports from compatible systems or homebrew.   To build a character for Odemark: Reborn use either the standard spread or point buy system as outlined in the D&D 5e Player's Handbook. The remainder of the build is normal per the D&D5e published rules. Keeping in mind, however the base setting. Armors have less archaic forms, describe them how you will with treated as: (chain shirt, leather, etc.) Armors with plates have small power packs which operate a cooling system, without which the wearer would smother in the heat of the open desert. It requires replenishment after a time of use. Firearms are a common weapon and have misfire rules. For simplicity in generation, Hand Crossbow=Pistol, Light Crossbow=Carbine and Heavy Crossbow=Heavy Rifle. Damages, ranges, prices for ammo are the same. Most are single shot, though some are of a revolver style magazine, autoloading frames are out of fashion because they throw reloadable brass away. All misfire on an attack roll when the d20 is 4 or less and can be fixed to misfire on 3 or less.
