Saldalin was founded by a large union of elves, and they called the surrounding forest their home.
The Saldalin Elves and Falloben Dwarves in the Loebnaeturie region of The Oakenlands have had a fairly long history of conflict. This timeline describes the major and minor events that happened during that history, from the beginning of their skirmishes until the current peaceful period.
Saldalin was founded by a large union of elves, and they called the surrounding forest their home.
The dwarves built their outpost here to keep themselves safe in case any attack on the mountains where they delved was on their way.
The Lobecutter clan gained prominence and momentum within the Dwarven community in north-eastern Loebnaeturie. Their increased distrust towards the elves compared to previous clans is what sparked the first conflicts between the two towns.
The Falloben Dwarves, led by the Lobecutters, were none too pleased with the Saldalin Elves being so close to their mountains, and slowing their operations. The elves on their turn were angry at the dwarves for blatantly ignoring their wishes. On and off, small conflicts happened, but nothing to escalate the situation yet.
The war got started by an unfortunate misunderstanding, in which Saldalin messengers were slaughtered by Falloben dwarves.
The military leaders of the dwarves decided to turn the Falloben outpost into a settlement for their workers to live in, so their provisions and services could easily be put to use by the dwarvish force.
After many years, the war finally came to an end due to frequent stalemates and loss of resources/units.
The era of tension between the dwarves and elves finally ended, and they no longer are after each other's throats.
