Alric, God of Justice

Overview

Alric the stern God of Justice and the Honor. As the lord of the sun he is the king of the heavens and skies, ever guiding the sun along it's path, spreading it's light and warmth upon an otherwise dark and cold world. it is because of him that time can be kept and crops can grow tall when he brings summer to the world. He is a virtuous protector of the weak, a righteous crusader against evil, and a beacon of hope amidst the dark. Thanks to his guiding light all that wander can turn to the sky for guidance during their journey. He guides with a a light touch, a comforting flame that can be unleashing into a scorching fury upon the forces of chaos and evil that dwell within the world.   He is depicted as a sun-touched King in golden plate with long radiant hair held back by a golden circlet, his beard is neatly trimmed. He is either sitting on a radiant throne or striding on top a white steed.

Followers

All benefit from Alric's work, as such many pay at least a token of respect towards him, especially among knights, travelers and farmers. His core followers however walk a path few can follow, they are chivalrous knights bound by tradition and a strict code of conduct requiring them to be just and fair, even their enemies. They know that true justice is justice tempered with mercy and forgiveness, not bladebound vengeance. They shelter the world from the dark by bringing the light to those who need it and bring purifying flame to those that obey the will of evil. Most of them prefer to teach and guide through actions and deeds, rather then words. As such many err on the side of mercy, engaging in acts of charity as guardians of the meek, helpless and downtrodden. Others however become somewhat blinded by their zeal and in their (self-)righteousness gain a reputation as stern arbiters of the law that practice the law via the mantra: an eye for an eye. Some among them have turned their backs on their past life, seeking atonement for their past by being reborn within his light. They are knights, crusaders, warriors, inquisitors, justicars, judges, protectors and those seeking guidance and atonement. All learn that unless given the right by law no man is judge, nor jury, nor executioner within civilized lands.     Favored Weapon: Longsword   Alignment anathema: Chaos and Evil

Temples

His temples are opulent designs on elevated ground, with an open top that allows the sun to shine through when it sits at it's highest point. The entrances are directed towards the east and west to ensure the temple can bathe into the beauty of both dawn and dusk. The central statue has a polished bronze plate worked into the armor of Alric to further refract and send the light into the temple. Cracks into the polish and darkened halls during the day are seen as signs of ill omen.

Divine Tenets

Preserve the world's light and be steadfast in it's fight against evil   Be honorable, fair, reasonable and righteous, never become blinded by vengeance and it's tools. Torture is anathema.   Safeguard order against corruption and chaos

Relations

Alric is married to Nara and Zelya is their Child. He works alongside many gods, and is often working alongside Kruzec. He despises his sister Scirri for sowing chaos in addition to tricking and kidnapping his daughter. As he considers his voice the highest authority among the Gods, so to do many consider him the most arrogant, yet he remains their unofficial leader.
