Dwarves
Global Article Introduction Block
Dwarves are a race of intelligent humanoids, preferrring to dwell in places where they are not exposed to direct sunlight any more than is necessary. They are often considered by non-Dwarves to be clannish, stubborn, greedy, and overconfident.
Dwarf (Species Aspect)
In general, Dwarves are a robust folk, both physically and mentally, and are good at working with their hands. As a result:
- Dwarves gain the Stress and Consequence benefits of the Physique skill as if it were 2 shifts higher than it is.
- Similarly, they gain the Stress and Consequence benefits of the Will skill as if it were 2 shifts higher than it is.
- Provided that they are using no tools whatsoever (working directly with their hands), or working with their own personal tools, they may add +2 to a Crafts roll once per effort they are trying to achieve.
The flip side of those advantages is that Dwarves tend to be overconfident about their ability to take damage, willful/stubborn to the point of being inflexible, and preoccupied with their personal material possessions.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves tend not to socialize with non-Dwarves, even when there are very few Dwarves in the area. They also tend to prefer associating with other members of their own ethnic groups — Fyelmeneskar preferring the company of other ”Mountain Dwarves,” and so on.
The Dypemenesker (”Deep-down” Dwarves) enjoy a unique position in Dwarven society, being the oldest of the Dwarven ethnic groups, and the keepers of most Dwarven lore and of Dwarven law.
