Famous protectors

Since everyone knows that Daemons are evil beings from the rift that have been captured by the institute, it stands to reason that there must be people who go out and catch these Daemons. The Daemon Hunters are just such people, the Institutes public face of the war on Daemons. They have a certain amount of fame within Salike as brave people who battle Daemons in order to keep the citizens of Salike safe.
Daemon hunters are a branch of the Institute and as such are a private military organisation. They answer only to the Leaders of the Institute and have developed a certain arrogance to go along with their position. They are quite reknowned in the city, though their reception by the populace is a bit of a mixed bag. When out and about in the city they are often accompanied by admirers and hangers-on.

Keeping up appearances

The Daemon hunters all have a basic uniform which they wear, But each member personalises it in some fashion. Some use studs or spikes, some gears and cogs and some simply accompany it with a stylish hat. When out in the field they also wear armoured pieces to help protect them against the many hazards of the Syklan hills and fringe lands. The armour consists of an armoured vest, bracers, knee high boots. Having to travel long distances and remain mobile in combat their armour is quite light and designed to protect only vital places.
Each Daemon hunter carries a long blade, an assortment of daggers and thowing stars and a magi-net. Some of the hunters also carry progectile weaponry, ranging from composite bows, heavy crossbows, spear guns or specialised and rare magi tech guns.

Ygritte Grummel and Farson Greenhelm are two of the most prominent hunters. They are partners in life and work and have the most successful record in hunting Daemons. At least these are the stories that people tell about them many children of Salike consider them heroes and will often gather round them whenever they are out in the city.
