Holy relic of Vianola

Vianola was an Emissary of Kyevyag, and a prietess of the Order of Cycles. Renowned for her wisdom and understanding of the world she was revered by adherents of the Thee orders. It was said she could commune with Kyevyag Themselves, and this is where she gained her wisdom. Upon her death several of her belongings were declared holy relics, amongst which was a pendant she had worn from her time as an acolyte. She claimed she had found the pendant via a dream sent by Kyevyag and through it they could communicate with her.

Summary

The pendant of Vianola moved from temple to temple over the course of the next fifty years. Many adherents tried to use the pendant in this time but it remained dormant. Most began to believe that it had no powers at all, but a select few believed it was simply waiting for the right person. Nevertheless it remained a cherished relic to the Orders as having been important to Vianola.

Historical Basis

The relic was housed in the temple at Nysada during the Great Quake. Several citizens had hidden inside the reliquary during the chaos, believing it to be protected. This may indeed have been the case, for when the rumblings subsided and the people exited the chamber, they realised that the wing housing the reliquary was the only building that remained untouched in Nysada. They found a few other survivors, but the devastation to the land was too great to make staying in Nysada a viable option.   Taking the relic they fled down the river, away from mountains that still rumbled ominously, towards the central plains. They hoped the people there had fared better. On the way however, disaster struck. Whilst trying to negotiate some rapids the boat containing the relic capsized and the relic was lost. They spent several futile days searching for it, but in the end had to give it up for lost as food supplies were running low. With heavy hearts they continued and eventually reached the place where Salike stands today.
