Just a repairman

Underneath the City of Salike is a labyrinthine network of tunnels, and the cogs which turn the city, quite literally. From down here the machines whirr and crank to keep the comforts the citizens of the city are used to going. As with any machine they need looking after and repairing, and no one knows the workings of the machines better than Moley. Most of the time the machines run themselves, but occasionally something goes amiss, and it is then Moley's job to go fix it. Sometimes the problem is related to one of the Daemon devices, in these instances the magi-techinicians have to be called in, but for everything else Moley seems to manage just fine.

An unassuming fellow

Moley seems to have been there forever, but in truth there have been many Moley's. Moley was simply the nickname given to the job by the Magi-Techinicians. The current holder of the title is a quiet man with a deferential manner, most people don't even notice him until something goes wrong. He always seems to be in the same dirt stained overalls and worn steel toe cap boots, with a perpetual coating of grease on his face and hands. He is a reasonably large man but seems to hunch in on himself as if apologising for his size all the time.

Although it may seem that Moley is always there, he does lead a private life outside of the tunnels. Private being the operative word. For those in the know, who are few, his real name is Sam Secondu, and he is very good at lawn bowls.

There has been the same Moley for the last forty years. This one seems to be particularly good at his job which, ironically, makes him even less noticed than previous Moleys. Even though he holds such a lowly position beneath the city out of view of everyone he has in fact got remarkable control at his fingertips. There may even be times when he wields this power.
