Heretic is a Horde Guild that has been a fundamental presence in the RP community since 2011. Our members enjoy the values of guild camaraderie and loyalty. We strive to help others along their game progressive by being morally supportive and by providing game knowledge and assistance whenever possible. We endeavor to keep guild RP threads alive, dynamic, and interesting. We are open to raiding teams, wPvP and arenas, tying in their successes and failures to the guild RP history. With that said, such events are sporadic and depend largely upon the time, interest, and goals of our players at any given time.   Heretic derives its name from the concept that its members follow a path that Horde tribal societies view as deviant. This “path” is as individual and unique as each of guild’s members.
An ancient relic known as the [Book of Heretic] gives life to the guild by connecting these individual paths. Each member is given their own individual copy of the [Book of Heretic] which is magically tied to the relic. Like the guild member him/herself, the individual’s copy is individual and unique to that member. This individual copy will contain knowledge and information that both inspires the member to self-actualize and to stay connected with the guild.
  As such, a Heretic tends to be more non-conformist in relation to Azerothian society but finds a new and different culture with their fellow guildmates. They are 'more' conformist to the culture of the guild than to greater society. The ideal guild member would be one who is willing to express themselves and engage with the guild as much as they can, by participating in guild chat and guild events as much as possible. This ideal member would join us for the long term and do all they can to add to the collective culture in their own unique way.
 

About Heretic

  • We are not a Hardcore or Elite Guild in any way—in rp, pvp, or in raids.
  • With that said, members within the guild can and do often form rigorous subcultures that can be hardcore. E.g. We have had a raid group in the past that took their raiding very seriously. Those who joined that raid group had to conform to the rules of that raid group. If they did not, they still enjoyed other aspects of the guild finding other activities and people who played more to their particular style.
  • We feel there are hundreds of guilds that enjoy traditional lore and do traditional things. We like to do things in our own way, regardless of whether they fit in with generally accepted RP norms. We are our own thing… others guilds can subscribe to whatever they want.. We create our own world.
 

How we are organized

  • The guild is run like a corporate structure. We have our executive leadership team that runs the administration. As such, the leadership decides the framework, basic rules, regs, and culture of the guild, just the same as any RL company would do.
  • With that said, just like a RL company, you can promote upwards and be a manager of sorts, that can influence the right people and the right situations.
 

Our Attitude towards RP

  • You are given creative license to explore your RP in any way that you see fit, even if that exploration takes you away from traditional lore.
  • If your RP is crazy, understand that your toon will likely be treated as such … crazy!! Example. If you RP that you are a vampire robot… fine… understand your toon is probably clinically cray cray … and you will likely be met with disregard, pity, fear, disrespect or avoidance by others from the guild, as they are staying true to their RP reaction. Choose your RP in a way that you want to be interacted with.
