Soulsinging

Soulsinging is an ancient and primal magic system. it is a practice that involves the replication of specific vibrations and motifs that act as the language of the spirits and can influence, command, and even create them. soul songs are reguarded as the language of the spirits and it is possible to learn fragments of these songs without channeling to commune with spirits of greater inteligence.
the process of producing a soul song will draw spirits of a similar attunement to the song being played, and when conjured are capable of being manipulated by that song into acting certain ways or placing atributes onto something temporarily. in some cases a singer is able to manefest these spirits just by playing these songs, though it would require a great understanding of that specific melody or the use of The Song of Souls. in the case of larger more powerful spells, using a soul song would be more equivalent to hypnosis.
the moment a soulsong is canceled out, the spirits will dispurse or even disapate if they are of the lesser variety, or in the case of more developed spirits they could become hostile to the singer.

Manifestation

a soulsong manefests as a series of notes that become a sort of motif. these motifs can be played in sequence or in a free flowing manner that continues to improvise uppon itself. the motifs themselves are like anchors or paths that guide the logic of the song along while the song itself is constant and ever changing.
to untrained ears a spirit makes feint flute like noises, but with practice it is possible to make out its song and understand impressions of what it is thinking and feeling as a sort of languange.
the language of spirits is not a normal spoken language. soul songs convey ideas and feelings and sometimes even images. so a conversation with a spirit can be primitive to complex depending on how developed the spirit is.
