Joshinda, Goddess of The Dead

No one is sure how Domfru and her sister Joshinda were created, all that is known about them is that they are children of Gatsu.

Domfru and Joshinda were created at a crucial part of Borohiem's history, near the beginning, when the people of Borohiem started to die, they had nowhere to go, there was no afterlife, they just drifted into eternal purgatory, unable to do anything. Kurhad and Shoju had no idea what to do, their powers didn't allow them to make after lives, and they didn't want their people to suffer such terrible fates, but they felt as though there was nothing they could do... at least until Domfru and Joshinda appeared. The two offered to create afterlives for the people of Borohiem, with one condition, they would have complete control over it, and no interference from other gods, Kurhad and Shoju accepted the deal after a few minutes of thinking on it, and the four started making an amazing afterlife fit for Borohiem.
They instantly ran into problems, none of the decisions they made were unanimous, which meant nothing was getting done because they were all arguing.
But eventually, after days of arguing, they finally agreed on something, they would split off into two groups, Domfru and Kurhad, and Joshinda and Shoju. Those who worshiped Domfru would go to Domfru's afterlife and those who worshipped Joshinda would go to Joshinda's afterlife.   but what's Joshinda's afterlife like?
well, it is quite simple.
when you die you are brought into an enormous room, sitting on a large throne at the back of the room is Joshinda.
Joshinda will ask you a few questions, and you must answer them honestly, if you lie the consequences will be dire. After asking a few person specific questions, she will ask you the question she asks everyone, do you think you are a good person?
what you answer with will decide your fate, by answering this question you choose what you will reincarnate as.

if you're a bad person who thinks they're a good person, you'll be reincarnated as a fish, a lowly creature in Burkiu society, only meant to be eaten. If you're a bad person who thinks you were pretty neutral you'll be reincarnated as a rat, and you serve as food to birds, which are greatly admired by the people of Burkiu.
If you are a bad person who recognizes their bad or a neutral person who thinks they're bad neutral or good, you will get three options, you can be reincarnated as a fish, a rat, or have a second try as a human. If you choose the second try you will have the same personality, but no memories, just the feeling that you have to do better, when you die again you will regain your memories and you will be judged by Joshida, if you stay the same or got worse you will be a fish, but if you became a better person you will be reincarnated as a sparrow, which are sacred to the people of Buriku. The appearance of a sparrow means good luck.

If you are a good person who thinks they are a bad person you will also become a sparrow, however, when you die as a sparrow you will be brought back to Joshinda's palace and be reincarnated once more, this time as a crane, the most sacred animal in Buriku.
Good people who think they are neutral also become cranes, this is because they show humility. If you are good and think you are good you are reincarnated as an Ibis, a very sacred bird, however, not as sacred as the crane.

about half of Borohiem worships Joshinda, the other half worshipping her sister Domfru.
Like her sister statues of Joshinda are placed in cemeteries and tombs, but homeowners also have little statues of her lying around the house, they do this to scare off rats, their minds are tiny and simple, but they remember how they became so small and weak. Birds will often hang around statues of Joshinda, this is seen as good people giving their thanks to Joshinda for letting them fly through the heavens and the mortal plane.

Joshinda's symbol is of the crane and the eel, the crane because it is the greatest gift she can bestow, and the eel because they kill those who are lowly enough to be reincarnated as fish.

Joshinda's only child is Ukami, the god of danger and the sea.
