Mudrista, Godess of Wisdom
Mudrista was born in the early days of Borohiem, right before humans arrived on the continent.
Kurhad was resting after a long day of exploring Valjord when a creature came out of the bushes, it was a half owl half human-looking creature, clearly a spirit.
However, the spirit didn't attack, instead it started to ask Kurhad questions.
Kurhad was cautious but interested, so he started answering the questions, over the night the two got closer and closer, the owl spirit was doing most of the talking, and Kurhad was giving short-sentence-long answers.
Eventually, the two fell asleep.
When Kurhad woke up he was bound to the ground by roots and metal, the owl spirit had a sword pointing towards his chest.
She asked him if he had any last words, and Kurhad shook his head.
The owl spirit sunk the sword into his chest, but he seemed...unfazed.
The owl couldn't plan for this, no one could. The owl took the sword out of his chest I tried slitting his throat... nothing. By this time Kurhad was almost out of his shackles.
she tried one last thing, stabbing him straight in the head, once again, nothing.
Kurhad broke free and clasped his hands around the spirit's throat.
The spirit was shocked, she thought she had planned this perfectly, but no, the god had resisted all of her attacks. Slowly, the spirit died.
Kurhad left the corpse there to rot.
about 9 months later Kurhad was doing a final look around to make sure it was ok for his people to inhabit the area, when he stumbled across a baby, not too far from where he killed the owl spirit. The baby had his eyes.
He picked the baby up, and he instantly knew it was his.
Over the next few days he grew attached to the baby, yet he still didn't have a name for her.
Days later he was still thinking about what to name her, even as the first humans were entering in the shores of Valjord, he looked out to his people, and he got it, he would name her after the oldest woman in his clan, Mudrista.
Mudrista grew up fast, it seemed as though she grew every time humans learned something, and Humans are constantly learning, so she was constantly aging (similair to Gatsu, just to much smaller scale). Eventually, it slowed down, at that point, she looked about 25.
Mudrista was very intelligent, she had the combined knowledge of humans, and then some, so naturally, Kurhad put her in charge of selecting a leader for his people. Mudrista took this role very seriously, she always made sure to find the best leader, and when she did choose a leader she would lend them a fraction of her knowledge. This knowledge saved many lives,
Kurhad and Mudrista had a close bond, but she felt left out when Kurhad got a wife and started having kids, she felt like a loner in this new family Kurhad had made.
Still, Kurhad would find time to spend with her, and his new wife Mudeira (goddess of hospitality and birth) was very kind to her, but she still felt alone.
One day, while watching over Norrtoi she saw a massive spirit running at the capital, Slavayam.
This was one of the biggest spirits she had ever seen, she needed to stop this thing.
She thought about calling for her siblings, but she didn't have enough time, she needed to think fast.
The creature had long legs, so she needed to find a way to trip it. She quickly created a rope out of thin air, wrapping it around two thick pine trees, about 30 seconds after she set the trap up, the spirit plowed into it, falling straight on the ground. Mudrista started calling for her siblings, but someone grabbed her arms, it was a tall man with two heads, the left head was a dove and the right was an owl. The dova head opened its mouth and let out a puff of magical gas right in Mudrista's face, she tried holding her breath, but it was no use.
Witnesses say the two-headed spirit created a portal to the spirit realm and walked Mudrista into it, witnesses also say she wouldn't take her eyes off the creature, and it looked as though she was... happy.
Kurhad was devastated, his daughter followed a spirit into the spirit realm, happily, leaving hundreds to die. no one saw Mudrista for a whole year.
From the perspective of a god, a year isn't a very long time, but Kurhad was still furious that she had been gone this long. Eventually, nearly a year after she left, she returned to her family, but she had brought something with her... a baby. There was no one welcoming her back, everyone knew what the baby was, and they knew it was part spirit. The first thing Kurhad said to his daughter was
"you kill that violation of our lineage, or I will".
Mudrista was devastated, to say the least, she wanted to keep the baby, but she knew her father wouldn't allow it, so she took the baby and dropped it from the heavens, it fell nearly a thousand feet, landing somewhere in Skogenburg. After seeing this, Kurhad started to trust his daughter again, but he had to make sure this didn't happen again, so he put a curse on her, any man she was close to who wasn't related by blood would perish, whether they were mortal, spirit, or even god.
Mudrista has stayed quiet ever since this incident, the only things she appears for are picking a new High Maiden, which she sees as her children, and blessing her followers.
these are Mudrista's rules for her followers:
1: learn in everything you do
2: look at things logically
3: don't let emotions get in the way of how you think
