The Fishermen

in the oceans of the eastern side of Borohiem, near where Skogenburg and Morukan connect, there is a massive brine pool 300 feet down, on the ocean floor. This brine pool stretches for miles upon miles, no one is sure where it ends.
But this isn't some ordinary brine pool, this brine pool has a connection to the spirit world, and death itself.
This Brine pool is home to the 13 fishermen. The 13 fishermen are almost completely unknown, no one knows who or what made them, how long they've been there, or if they can even speak, the two things that are known about them are what they look like, and what they do. Let's start with what they look like. The 13 fishermen all generally look the same, they wear ornate robes that cover everything but their bony forearms, and all of them wear masks, this is where they differ the most, but the masks all seem to be in the general visage of an oni, or an undead. Every fisherman has an identical fishing rod made of bamboo.
onto what they do; the fishermen stand on boats with reeds and bamboo, fishing, as their name suggests; but what they're catching is a bit different, human souls, manifested into fish. These souls are of those who were murdered, their souls are transported here soon after they die, where they turn into fish, and start to swim around in the brine pool, those who want revenge stay in the pool and race towards the hook whenever it the water, and if they're lucky enough to bite first, they get caught and the fishermen turn them into a spirit. Others will swim deeper down into the brine pool, if they swim far enough they will reach their chosen afterlife.

The fishermen are seen as dangerous since they create hundreds of spirits every day, but no efforts have been made to stop them, this is because of their location, for starters, they're 300ft down in the ocean, and the only way to get down there is to use magic, and even then, the place is full of powerful spirits, which would be hard to fight already on land, but you're also underwater.
Those who have tried all die before they reach the fishermen, except one, a woman from Tachihon by the name of Daigo Suzuki, she was a very trained spirit hunter, but she was retiring soon, so she decided to do one last big job to end her career. She had someone cast a water-breathing spell on her, and she dove down, sword in hand. She killed any spirit that came her way with ease, eventually making it to the bottom, no one could make out what was going on, the brine pool shed light of some sort, so it wasn't just pitch black, but even then, it just looked like a bunch of shapes. Eventually, something floated to the surface, it was Daigo's body. They raced to pick her up, but when they did, she bent like she was made of rubber. Those on board were confused, but then they all saw it, her teeth.. they were red ... and round. confused the sailors poked at her teeth, they were squishy and slimy, nothing like any normal set of teeth, the sailors decided to investigate further, they looked everywhere, but everything on the surface was normal, they needed to go deeper. They knew this was immoral, but they were burning with curiosity, so the sailors cut her open and were horrified by what they saw, her entire skeleton had been replaced with fish eggs. It's said her legendary sword still lies at the bottom of that brine pool.

The fishermen aren't worshipped by anyone, those who try get nothing.
