Mid Summer Madness
Describe a traditional celebration for the summer solstice in a culture of your world
A festival held by the Elven goddess Elaya on the 7th month, the 7th day of the year, starting at 7am and goes all the way until 7pm three days later. The festival is filled with mirth and song, and most everyone has a goodtime, because the clerics make sure of that with their spells, for the good of the people really. Adults are expected to cut loose, and drinking fey wine for the Elves and magic mushroom spiced tea for the non Elves is very traditional, but things are expected to stay civil and not ruin the party. For the children, they are served up various fruits that are seasonal, along with non alcoholic hot ciders and pies, both fruit and meat. For fun their are various contests such as boxing, dance, track and field, song, swimming, wrestling, and after everyone is done with competition for the day, they migrate towards theater whilst relaxing on the grass in front of a nice make shift stage. When the festival is done, no trash is left behind since all of the materials are naturally recyclable, consumed, or eaten, with any left overs going to local charities.
