Please refer to the Player's Handbook for the mechanics of the Distant Spell Metamagic feature in D&D 5th Edition.

As a Bonus Action, you can add this talisman to the material components of an Illusion spell of at most level 2 that can benefit from the effects of the Distant Spell Metamagic and that you cast on the same turn. The spell then benefits from the effects of the metamagic.

The talisman is consumed as soon as the casting process starts, no matter the outcome of the spell.
