At the turn of the millennia, the veil, a metaphysical barrier that prevents mundane humans from perceiving the supernatural, began to fade away. Predujuse and fear lead to violent conflict and the breaking down of civilized society. As a byproduct of mundanes witnessing the supernatural, walls between other worlds started to weaken, and portals began to form. One such type of portal were the chaos portals, which spewed forth hideous creature, determined to destroy. Now, in 2042, the lands are a wasteland of twisted plants and murderous beasts, with little hope of them ever returning to the civilization of the past.
