Brightrock

The planet of Brightrock is a wasteland isolated from the rest of the universe and home to only the most dangerous and desperate life forms. The planet is close to the sun which emanates a red light that coats the sky and sand with a scarlet filter. The heat is almost unbearable and the ground dry and barren, killing all but the most resilient plants. Most of the planet is completely uninhabitable, with humans and other lifeforms not evolved to its harsh conditions being concentrated into the north which experiences less exposure to the sun than the blazing south.   However, the planet also contains a rare mineral called sunstone which can power all types of technologies. The rich and successful live in the centre of the northern area of the planet, while outskirts are populated by huge mining plants and desperate workers who are paid a pitance for their hard labour. These locations have the highest yield of suntone without conditions so harsh that it is completely uninhabitable. However, some small tribes have, in desperation, moved even further to the south where the minerals are most dense, putting themselves in great risk for the hope of finding their fortune.
